Divided Ireland votes in abortion referendum #breakingnews #breaking #worldhealines

Irish voters are heading to the polls in a referendum which could lead to the liberalisation of abortion laws. Terminations of pregnancy are illegal in Ireland, except in extreme cases where the mother's life is in danger. Voters are now deciding whether to repeal the Eighth Amendment of the Constitution - introduced in 1983 – which offers equal protection under the law to the mother and the unborn child. Our correspondents report from Dublin, where they followed the campaign on both sides.
