When the Islamic State group seized parts of Iraq, art was looted and destroyed. Back in 2003, some museums and archaeological sites had also been targeted. But throughout the destruction, artists and ordinary people fought back, saving artworks. Now in slightly more stable times, new works are being created to ensure that art, once again, thrives in Iraq. As part of those efforts, a new exhibition, "Baghdad mon amour" or "Baghdad my love", has opened in Paris. We spoke to curator Morad Montazam
